Maldives is the ultimate place to go to if you love water sports, and the same goes for diving sites and amazing underwater views.
The Caves
Located near the reefs of Kandooma Island, the Kandooma Caves have a magical quality about them, as the best underwater sights in all of Maldives can be found here. When you pass the reef corner, you’ll find two large caves that are almost touching one another. The first cave is about 20m tall with a gaping hole in its roof, while the second cave is larger, but has overhanging which block out the sunlight, so, taking a torch along would be a great idea. Within the caves, you’d see sea fans, yellow sponges, giant morays and tube corals.
Where to stay
A Maldives luxury resort is what comes to mind when you think of accommodation, and with places like COMO Cocoa Island, The Maldives and more, you have a variety to choose from. Kandooma Island can be reached from any one of the other Maldivian islands, either by a speedboat, seaplane or a helicopter. Most people go with the speedboat as it is the cheapest and most convenient mode of transport.
