Balinese Dance Performance: A Mesmerising Experience!

While forms of dance such as ballet, jazz and salsa are well known around the world, each of these styles originated decades ago from a region or a nation. Intriguingly, a closer survey of the national styles of dance indicates that each nation, and often, each community, enjoys a certain type of national or traditional dance. From Valle in Argentina to Maypole dance in England and the multitude of traditional dances in India, dance has always been a demonstration and expression of emotion. As a result, whether you are in Hawaii on vacation or lounging around at a luxury resort Bali, your experience in the tropics will be incomplete without enjoying the traditional and unique dance styles of the region.

For those travelling to Bali for a brief holiday and require a recommendation for accommodation, The Laguna Resort & Spa Bali is one of the better options this tropical island offers its visitors. When staying in such a hotel, always consider the option of venturing out and exploring the surrounding local areas, that is of course, if you are so inclined, for such a venture would no doubt give you the opportunity to interact with the locals and immerse yourself in the culture of the area.

For those interested in dancing, opting for an evening Balinese Dance Performance is a wonderful option. One should expect to pay around thirty five dollars and set aside around four hours for the performance itself. Such performances are usually three fold. Those who wish to see such a performance should expect the Sanghyang dance where the dancers are accompanied by chants in order to chase away evil spirits. The second dance is known as the Kecak dance where around fifty or so men sit around a torch whilst producing a series of sounds and are accompanied by the choir as well. The evening will end with the fire dance where you will be stunned to see the dancers walk on coals and embers of fire! This performance is energetic, mesmerising and recounts a story. To find out what the story is, sign up and witness one of the most mesmerising sights in Bali.
