Must Visit Chongqing Zoo in China

Chongqing is certainly one of the places one must visit while touring China as it is a city packed with tourist attractions. It also has a proud cultural heritage. Well if you are an animal lover you would not want to miss the Chongqing Zoo. This is a quiet massive area that covers 45 hectares with beautiful sceneries and an artificial lake. It houses around 250 animal species and among them are some of the rarest animals in the world. The premises is located in the western suburb of Chongqing.

The Chongqing Zoo was established in 1954 and at present it is home to more than thousands of animals. This remarkable zoo draws over a million of visitors to the area every year.
If you visit this incredible animal shelter you would be able to witness rare animals such as Siberian tigers, Indian elephants and many more. One of the main highlights of the zoo is pandas. If you come early you could even feed them. Pandas are fed at 9 a.m. and of course don’t forget to pose for a photo with a panda. Apart from these cute creatures the beauty of the zoo is further more accentuated by arched bridges and green hills. Not to mention the colourful fish that swim in the lake.

To keep the little ones busy the zoo provides a children’s playground and a skating ring. There is also an open stage and a reading room. There is nothing to worry about food while you are in the complex as restaurants are available inside. The zoo is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the evening.
