While not a traditional holiday spot, the Middle Eastern region is becoming more and more popular with tourists from around the world. Many come to experience the food and culture; others come here for the beaches, while still more visit the region to enjoy the cornucopia of attractions found there. Among the countries in the Middle East, few resonate more with tourists than the United Arab Emirates. The cosmopolitan country is known for its progressive nature and western slanting attitudes, making it one of the least conservative countries in the area.
Abu Dhabi is one place in the United Arab Emirates where one can enjoy an authentic Arab experience in a somewhat westernised setting. Although it may be more conservative than Dubai, the emirate’s diversity also makes it a friendly place to visit. The emirate contains amazing shopping malls as well as plenty of cultural and historical attractions, so there is always something to do. One activity that is considered a ‘must do’ when holidaying here is taking a trip down to Ferrari World.
Opened in 2010, Ferrari World is a massive theme park located on Yas Island. Sprawling over 200,000 square metres, it is the largest indoor theme park on the planet. There are over twenty rides in total, including two roller coasters, one of which, the Formula Rossa, can reach speeds of up to 240 kilometres an hour making it the world’s faster roller coaster. In addition to rides one can also find several galleries that are both fun and educational, this includes a display called ‘Made in Maranello’ which gives an exciting glimpse into how a Ferrari factory operates.
